The Power Over Offense

"The Power Over Offense: The Holy Spirit" concludes our Freedom from Offense series by answering an important question: Where does the power come from to forgive, release hurt, overcome anger, and respond like Jesus when our flesh wants to react?

In this message, Pastor David teaches that God never intended for us to overcome offense, anger, bitterness, and frustration through our own strength. Through the Holy Spirit, we have the power to respond differently, take destructive thoughts captive, produce the fruit of the Spirit, and become more like Christ. As we continually surrender to the Spirit, abide in Jesus, and set our minds on things above, the things that once controlled us no longer have to define us. The goal isn't simply to become less offended—it's to be transformed into the image of Christ and freed to accomplish the work God has called us to do.
